Using [membership] passes in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet

Supported devices: iPhone, Apple Watch, Android phone (using Google Wallet)

1. If I put my membership card in Apple/Google Wallet, what does that mean?

Changing from a physical plastic card to a digital membership card accessed via Apple Wallet will mean that you can get through the entry gates at reception and the exit barrier in the car park by tapping your iPhone or Apple Watch, rather than your physical card.

Simply tap your device on the card reader where you would normally tap your membership card.

2. How do I add my membership card to Apple/Google Wallet?

You will receive an email invite from DoorFlow on behalf of your organisation.

To add your pass to Apple Wallet:

  • Open the invite email on your either your iPhone, iPad or Mac (assuming they are all using the same iCloud account the pass will sync across devices). If you're not using iCloud, start with opening the invite email on your iPhone.
  • Click the ‘Add to Apple Wallet’ button
  • The pass will be loaded - Click ‘Add’ on the top right-hand corner above your pass
  • Your pass has now been added to your Apple Wallet

To add your pass to Google Wallet (ensure you have downloaded Google Wallet in advance):

  • Open the invite email on your Android device.
  • Click the ‘Add to Google Wallet’ button
  • The pass will be loaded - Click ‘Add’ next to the pass
  • Your pass has now been added to your Google Wallet

Note that passes don't currently work with Samsung Wallet. Samsung is working on supporting passes in the near future and we'll update this article when they do.

3. How do I use my pass in Apple/Google Wallet?

Once you’ve added your pass to Apple/Google Wallet, using your phone or smart watch you can use the pass in the same way as you use a contactless bank card loaded onto your phone/watch.

  • You may get a notification as you approach your building - you can click on this notification to bring the pass to the fore if you choose
  • Tap your iPhone/Apple Watch or Android phone on the reader where you’d normally tap your plastic card
  • You’re in!

4. I’ve accidently removed my membership card from Apple/Google Wallet, how can I get it back?

No problem! Please find the original invite email and download the pass again. Note that a pass can only be added to one wallet. once it's been added to a wallet, you will be unable to add it elsewhere until it has been removed from the original wallet.

If you have any problems, please contact your organisation's manager.

Passes in Apple Wallet will work on iPhone 6 and later, and watchOS 4 and later. Passes in Google Wallet will work on any Android phone with support for NFC and Google Wallet.

Yes. Speak to the your organisation's admin/manager - they will issue you a plastic card. Please note, once a plastic card is activated, your membership card in Apple Wallet will no longer work.
